We had to do an assignment where we had to take a photo of ourselves, or our friends, hence the 'potrait' part. After that, we had to alter it in Photoshop, first by changing small things like contrast, but then, we could do whatever we wanted with it. I chose a photo of a classmate, who, as you can see, is very photogenic. This is partly because I just don't like to take photos of myself, but also because it'd just be a shame to hold back this piece of gold. I've added a filigrain-filter, to give the photo more effect, but also because I've always been interested in old black-and-white films.

Sandwich drawing
This is my drawing of a sandwich, for which I had an 7. For this assignment, we had to bring a photo of a sandwich with us, and then draw it over. When we had drawn it over, we also had to colour it. The best way to colour the crust was to mix yellow paint with brown paint, forming yellow ochre together. you could also just get the yellow ochre-paint, and don't mix any colours. As you can see, the top has a different sort of yellow ochre than the bottom. That's because I used the yellow-brown mix for the top, and the normal yellow ochre paint for the bottom. But it's better to mix yellow and brown, instead of just taking the normal yellow ochre.

My grafitti art work
We had to do an assignment where we had to draw our name in grafitti,
and I've gor a 7 for it. At first, I wanted to draw my whole name, which
is Elian. But I drew the letters too big, so I didn't have enough space to
draw the A and the N. So I drew my nickname, which is Eli. But when I
did that, I had left over too much space, so I filled that space with a big tree,
because I couldn't think of something better than that. So i'm glad with my
mark.
Pattern Snake assignment
We all had to draw a piece of a snake, and then draw some patterns
in it. We had to start with two waving lines on each side of the drawing.
The line had to begin and end 2,5 cm from each corner of the drawing.
Then you had to draw the patterns with your pencil, and then with
Indian ink. After everyone was done with it, our teacher collected all the drawings,
and put them next to each other, making it look like a snake. I had a 7
for it. Because, as you can see, I spilled too many ink. But i'm glad with
my mark, anyway.

The colour theory of Itten
The colour theory of Itten
Johannes Itten was born on the 11th of november, in 1888 in Südern-Lindern in Switserland. He was a painter, and he wanted to be teacher at the primary school. So he began to work on the Teacher Trainings Insitute in Bern. After that, he could be a teacher on secondary school, but he didn't want to teach there and became a painter. In 1913, he got Adolf Hölzel as his teacher.6 years later, in 1918, he began to teach at the Bauhaus in Weimar, and he teached there till 1922. A few years later, he became very succesful, and in 1926, he even had it'sa own art school. there also came a museum of him. He won prizes and wrote books about his colour theory. He eventually died on the 27th of May, November 1967.
The colour theory of Itten: in the picture you can see the colour wheel of Itten. There are different types of colours :
Primary colours: are in the centre of the colour wheel: red, yellow and blue.
Secondary colours: are produced from the mixing of one primary colour with another. These colours are orange, green and violet.
Tertiary colours: are created when mixing one secondary and one primary colour. i.e. blue + violet =blue-violet. The tertiary colours are: yellow-orange, red-orange, red-violet, blue-violet, blue-green and yellow-green.
Complementary colours: are opposite on the colour wheel. Red and green, yellow and violet, and blue and orange, are the three simple pairs of complementary colours. These colours always go well with each other.
Warm colours: are colours we associate with the sun and fire. These are red, yellow and orange.
Cool colours: are colours we associate with the sea and cold, chilly weather. They are blue, green and some kinds of purple (blueish purple).
Adding white to a colour is known as a tint and adding black to a colour is referred to as a shade.
